Poron

Poron is a fine pitch open-cell urethane foam and is almost always light blue. It feels very soft to patients. It is cushioning yet long-lasting and offers high-performance shock absorption for the toughest daily wear. It has been engineered to provide maximum repeated shock absorption from minimum thickness.

Slow Release Poron

Slow release poron is a fine pitch open-cell urethane foam. It is red-pink in colour, and is similar to regular blue poron in that it is very soft and great for cushioning and shock absorption. As the name suggests, slow release poron has a slower rebound rate. This makes it better for accommodative devices as opposed to sports devices which would be better suited to standard blue poron (above).

If you’d like to use slow release poron instead of standard poron, please specify this in the notes for lab staff. It is available in 1.6mm, 3.2mm and 6.4mm.

XRD Poron

XRD poron is soft and flexible to the touch, yet tough on impact. It is lightweight, breathable and provides minimum thickness for maximum effect, engineered for repeated impact and shock absorption.

If you’d like to use XRD poron instead of standard poron, please specify this in the notes for lab staff. It is available in 3.2mm and two different colours - yellow and black, though these colours may vary from time to time and if one is unavailable, you will be given the default.

Thickness & Location

If you want poron, you need to specify the thickness and where you want it. Once you have requested the thickness, we need to know if you want it on the shell only, extension only or shell and extension (S&E).
